My Toyota MK1 MR2

My Green and Gold Mark 1 MR2 Toyota

Behold a picture of my old car! For long enough on this site I had only a picture of Nick Challoner's car on this page as my car was a bit goosed. However after having the front end replaced and getting a photo of the finished article I am now able to put a shot of the beast on the website. Why did I have the front end replaced? Let me tell you all about it

One fine cold sunny winter lunchtime myself and Grace, my girlfriend, were driving to Bridge Of Allan to see her sister when I came apon a roundabout. Not knowing the roads I was being sensible and following directions from my navigator and generally driving like an old woman. Taking a right turn at the offending roundabout I then proceeded to straighten the car up and hit the accelerator to drive off down the road. Then, it happened............

It was very strange being a passenger in my own car when I had the pedals and steering wheel in front of me but then most crashes feel that way I suppose. The corner was in the shade and I reckon the frost from the previous night was still there and blah blah blah. Nobody was hurt in the crash but it was embarrassing picking up bits of the car from the road and scrapping all the dirt back onto the verge off the road. Major oopps. Being such an old car I thought it best to get the back end fixed under the insurance and pay for the front myself since getting both fixed was worth more than the car. Not to me mind, just the insurance company.

Some stories to tell in the ownership of this car
Timing belt saga | Exhaust gives up | The Crankshaft Pulley dies..... | Rolling Road Nov 2002

This car has now been sold for my Revision 3 GT-S, but I have included a link that explains the costs of ownership of various different cars. Actually mostly MR2's but hey we like them.
