When I bought the tubby I knew one of the boost pipes had a bit of a nick in it. In fact it had a fairly serious chunk missing from it but it didn't seem to cause any boost leaks and so I put up with it. A couple of years ago I was able to get into a group buy on some shiny new boost pipes which I never really bothered fitting. The big problem was after buying the pipes I decided to go down the chargecooler route and therefore the pipes I had just bought were not going to be used.

However that was not to be due to money issues, I didn't have any to spare for car modifying purposes and after 2 years I felt it was right to change the pipes. The fact that a loud whistling noise could be heard under boost made me kinda think the old hose had given up. The bay started like

the dodgy pipe was actually like

now replaced with some shiny blue pipes that almost match the car colour, close enough I reckon

I reckon that looks a whole lot better and it has made some performance adjustments. Boost is now much quicker to come on and seems to hold much better too. The whistling noise is also much reduced which strongly suggests the old pipe was actually leaking under boost. Well normal service has been resumed.
